Plastic surgery has come a very long way in the decades since it began. New surgical techniques that can help patients better achieve the new appearance they seek are being developed all the time. Part of my duty as a board-certified plastic surgeon is staying current with new surgical methods to help provide all of my prospective patients with the surgery that will best help deliver the final results they deserve. This is why I perform ethnic rhinoplasty procedures

Ethnic rhinoplasty describes specialty surgical techniques used to help patients of different ethnic groups who may have different aesthetic needs or goals based on their facial structure. This surgery is often used to preserve and enhance their ethnic features of the face. For example, it’s common for African American patients to have noses that contain weaker cartilage, shorter nasal bones, and skin more vulnerable to visual scarring. With this in mind, I take extra precautions to be delicate when performing rhinoplasty on African American patients.

In the following video, I discuss how I am able to utilize ethnic rhinoplasty to preserve each patient’s cultural characteristics while helping to rejuvenate the nose:

Everyone’s idea of the “ideal” nose is different. What matters to me is presenting each of my patients with the surgical method needed to help them look and feel their very best following their plastic surgery. This is why I offer all my patients complimentary plastic surgery consultations, where we can discuss their goals in-depth and even review their possible results by consulting before and after pictures from previous patients to help determine their most beneficial surgical path.
