While I often use my blog posts to discuss one specific cosmetic procedure or plastic surgery topic in a more in-depth manner, sometimes I also like to cover a bit more ground. I have found that doing so can help educate a wide range of prospective patients curious about how cosmetic surgery can potentially help them improve their appearance. This month, I was happy to take some time to answer a few questions about my Brazilian butt lift, mommy makeover, and ethnic rhinoplasty.
Question #1: Will I have any visual scarring after undergoing a Brazilian butt lift?
There is no such thing as cosmetic surgery without scarring, as a scar is the body’s natural reaction to an incision being made. However, the amount of post-surgery scarring following a Brazilian butt lift is often extremely minimal. It’s also important to note that because of the nature of the procedure, any scarring that occurs will be in the site where fat was removed via liposuction and not around the buttocks itself. Liposuction scars are typically tiny and nearly impossible to see due to the nature of the procedure and the tools used to perform it.
Question #2: How long will my mommy makeover procedure take to perform?
Typically, I can perform a mommy makeover procedure in-between 3-5 hours. However, this may vary depending on the exact procedures performed and each patient’s unique body type. For example, one person’s mommy makeover may include breast augmentation surgery and another may include breast reduction. We will discuss this during the mommy makeover consultation appointment.
Question #3: Can any plastic surgeon perform an ethnic rhinoplasty procedure?
I would caution patients to do their research before selecting a plastic surgeon to perform their ethnic rhinoplasty procedure. Because so many rhinoplasty surgeries in the US are geared towards Caucasian patients, some plastic surgeons are not fully aware and experienced in the subtleties of ethnic rhinoplasty. I highly recommend discussing this topic at your consultation appointment and asking to see before and after rhinoplasty photos to confirm that the plastic surgeon will be able to provide the specific result that you desire.
