Pregnancy and childbirth can take a major toll on your body physically and often women battle with weight fluctuation, change in breast shape and size, sagging skin, or stretch marks as a result. It is important that female patients wait until after they are finished having children before considering any type of plastic surgery as additional pregnancies can reverse your results. Typically, I recommend individual or combination breast and body contouring procedures such as breast augmentation, breast lift, tummy tuck, liposuction, or mommy makeover surgery for women who are looking to restore their confidence and undergo a complete rejuvenation.
Breast Augmentation: Breast augmentation surgery is ideal for women whose breasts have lost firmness or have shrunk due to childbearing and/or breastfeeding and wish to increase their overall breast size. As each patient’s cosmetic goals are different, the correct type of breast implant will be determined during your consultation, at which time your objectives are discussed, measurements are taken, and you have the opportunity to try on various implant sizes and types to determine the best fit for your body.
Breast Lift: Patients with sagging, drooping breasts that lack firmness are ideal candidates for breast lift surgery, which restores the natural shape and proportion of the breasts. Multiple techniques are utilized when performing a breast lift and it is based on the size and shape of your breasts, the degree of sagging, as well as other factors. For minor correction to the placement of the breasts, mini breast lift surgery may also be performed. Breast lift surgery is often combined with breast augmentation or breast reduction to restore firmness and a higher breast position.
Tummy Tuck: During tummy tuck surgery, loose skin and unwanted fat are removed and weakened abdominal muscles are repaired. By mending affected muscles, the midsection sustains a smoother, flatter appearance and function is restored. If there are still remaining areas of unwanted fat in the hips, flanks, or back, liposuction may be combined with tummy tuck surgery to remove the fat.
Mini Tummy Tuck: For patients who don’t require muscle repair and only need skin and fat removed, I may recommend a mini tummy tuck.
Liposuction: To remove small pockets of fat, liposuction sculpts the body by removing stubborn areas of fat through a cannula, or tiny hollow tube, through minuscule, surgical incisions. Whatever your “problem areas” are, liposuction addresses areas such as the abdomen, love handles, thighs, buttocks, and hips.
Mommy Makeover: A mommy makeover is a comprehensive combination surgery incorporating both breast and body contouring procedures. If you suffer from sagging breasts or have lost volume, a breast augmentation or breast lift can be performed. To shape the areas on the abdomen where skin has stretched, tummy tuck surgery is performed to target excess fat and skin and re-tighten weakened abdominal muscles for a firmer, more contoured result. For isolated areas of stubborn fat, liposuction can additionally sculpt the midsection and other areas such as the thighs, hips, and arms.
