Facial rejuvenation is a common priority among the patients we work with here at Southern Plastic Surgery. Wrinkles, lines, and other noticeable signs of aging can make our faces look old well before their time. The Croton Oil Peel, performed by Dr. David Whiteman at Southern Plastic Surgery, can provide outstanding anti-aging results for patients who may prefer not to undergo cosmetic surgery.
The Croton Oil Peel, sometimes referred to as a modified phenol peel, is a cutting-edge chemical peel capable of providing outstanding, long-lasting facial skin resurfacing results. The chemical blend of croton oil and phenol penetrates deep into the facial skin, addressing issues with the skin’s texture while increasing the brightness and smoothness of the complexion. The results achieved with a Croton Oil Peel compare favorably to cosmetic laser resurfacing treatments.
The Croton Oil Peel can be an ideal solution for anyone who experiences deep facial wrinkles and lines, as well as sun damage and other facial imperfections like age spots and pigmentation problems. It can be used to rejuvenate multiple areas of the face including the mouth, forehead, and around the eyes.
A note from Dr. Whiteman: “This is the most exciting treatment I’ve seen in the last 10 years in practice. The Croton Oil Peel is allowing my patients to achieve results they otherwise never could have. Think of the face like you would a painting. When we look at facial aging, we often look at the frame which would normally direct us towards a facelift. However, the central area of the face is just as (if not even more) important. After all, that’s what people see when they look at you.”

Q: What is recovery like after a Croton Oil Peel?
A: It’s normal for patients to experience some degree of facial redness, bruising, and swelling after their treatment, but these effects are temporary. I typically recommend for patients to allow for 1-2 weeks of recovery from their Croton Oil Peel before returning to work. Makeup can be safely applied to the face after 5-7 days of recovery time.
Q: How long will it take to achieve the final anti-aging results from the Croton Oil Peel?
A: After about two weeks, you should notice significant anti-aging results that should only improve with time. The results achieved from a Croton Oil Peel are intended to be long-lasting and can last several years in some cases depending on how your face ages naturally.
