After you have undergone breast enhancement surgery, there are chances that you may not be completely satisfied with your results, experienced weight fluctuation, or even experienced rare complications. Whether you’re unhappy with the size of your augmented breasts, experienced a leak in your implant, or simply want your implants removed all together, breast revision surgery can help you achieve the look you really want.

deciding if atlanta breast revision surgery is right for youIt is common for patients to decide they want to increase or decrease the size of their existing implants. When determining what implant size is aesthetically fitting for the patient, many factors such as weight, height, age, and body shape are considered and play a vital role. In order to achieve your cosmetic goals, I will remove your old implants and replace them with better-suited implants that work in proportion to your figure. The correct type of breast implant varies from patient to patient and the decision between saline, silicone, or “gummy bear” breast implants is a personal preference. During your consultation, you will have the opportunity to try on different breast implant sizes and shapes to help you get a better idea of your possible outcome.

Though breast augmentation complications are rare, with any surgical procedure, there are inherent risks that can occur due to a foreign object being placed into the body. The most common risks are implant rupture and capsular contracture. In some instances, implants can rupture, causing the breasts to deflate. If you experience a rupture with saline implants, you will have no physical harm, the body will absorb the saline solution and the breasts deflate. Although rare, all implants are prone to possibly rupture. Capsular contracture, another commonly corrected concern with breast revision, results from the fibrous tissue lining that your body forms around the breast area in response to an implant being placed in your body. As capsular contracture causes the implant to look and feel hard, surgery is recommended in order to remove the capsule and restore a softer look and feel to the breasts.
