Dr. David Whiteman of Southern Plastic Surgery will join the Center for Surgical Weight Management at Gwinnett Medical Center (GMC) as a panelist for the annual Panel of Plastic Surgeons event on January 14, 2013. The panel’s discussion will center on topics relating to bariatric surgeries and managing post-surgery results and weight. As a cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon who focuses on health and wellness, Dr. Whiteman will present information on surgical procedures and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle after surgery. During the event, patients will have an opportunity to participate in a question and answer session in smaller breakout groups.
Many patients undergo bariatric surgery to improve their health and overall quality of life. Bariatric surgery is a life-changing procedure and the Panel of Plastic Surgeons would like to ease patients into their new, healthier lifestyle. Many patients may even consider post-bariatric surgery to further improve the aesthetics of their new bodies and to address excess skin after substantial weight loss. GMC’s Center for Surgical Weight Management offers support groups and serves as a resource for healthy diet and exercise management.
