In my many years of experience performing cosmetic surgery procedures, knowledge and communication are essential tools when speaking with patients. People are always more comfortable with the idea of undergoing a cosmetic procedure when they fully understand how it will work and do not have any lingering questions or concerns regarding their surgery. This is especially true when it comes to procedures like fat transfer injections that some patients may not be as familiar with. That’s why I wanted to take some time to discuss fat transfer injections, how I perform, and the incredible benefits they can provide.
The fat transfer process begins by consulting with me, Dr. David Whiteman, an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon. During this appointment, I will confirm that the patient is a good candidate to safely undergo fat transfer. This includes identifying the right area of the body to remove the fat from using liposuction. During the procedure itself, this fat is safely purified after it is removed and then re-injected into the patient’s body to rejuvenate the area that they prefer. This can include the face, breasts, buttocks and more depending on the patient’s specific needs and preferences.
