Cosmetic procedures are on the rise. The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) recently performed a survey on cosmetic surgery trends in 2017 and noted a continued rise in the demand for both cosmetic surgery and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures. Younger people in particular seem more open than ever to partake in cosmetic treatments to help bring out the best versions of themselves.
It’s safe to say that the rise in the “selfie” culture and the ever-presence of social media is at least in part responsible for this surge in demand. Today, it’s more important than ever for many younger people to look their best, not just when they go out or head to work, but whenever they feel like sharing a bit of themselves with the world via a tweet or Instagram selfie. According to the AAFPRS survey, 55% of plastic surgeons said they worked with patients who underwent their cosmetic procedure at least in part to look better in selfies. With this in mind, I am happy to elaborate on a few excellent options for anyone trying to achieve outstanding, natural-looking aesthetic results for their face:
Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty
Unlike traditional surgical rhinoplasty, the nonsurgical rhinoplasty uses injectable facial fillers to help smooth and recontour the nose. Sometimes referred to as a “liquid nose job”, nonsurgical rhinoplasty is great for anyone who wants to camouflage imperfections on their nose like bumps and uneven areas. Results are long-lasting and no downtime is needed for recovery.
Eyelid Surgery
The eyes are perhaps the most important feature to address when trying to fight off the more visible signs of aging. That’s why I commonly recommend eyelid surgery for patients trying lose the “tired eyes” look. Eyelid surgery involves removing excess skin and fat from the eyelids to help refresh the appearance of the eyes. This procedure typically has a quick and easy recovery period and results are long-lasting.
Kybella® Nonsurgical Fat Reduction
Shedding a double chin can be impossible for certain people with diet and exercise alone. Thankfully, Kybella® Nonsurgical Fat Reduction offers an excellent opportunity for anyone who wishes to safely do away with their double chin. Kybella® is FDA-approved to effectively treat the double chin and create a thinner, more attractive neck area. In most cases, more than one treatment is necessary to achieve the best-possible results.
Patients of all ages are more eager than ever to improve their appearance with cosmetic surgery and nonsurgical cosmetic treatments. However, in order to get the results you deserve from your procedure, it’s important to see an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who can help determine the most beneficial procedures for you.
