In any area of life, it can be scary to grapple with the unknown. People like certainty. This is definitely true for people who are considering undergoing a plastic surgery procedure. While it’s true that plastic surgery is safer and more effective than ever before, it can be scary for some patients to not know for certain what they will look like following their surgery. Thankfully, recent advances in medical and surgical technology like the Crisalix 3D Imaging system for plastic surgery have taken much of the mystery out of cosmetic surgery results. Crisalix 3D Imaging is a cutting-edge technology that allows my plastic surgery patients the opportunity to see a preview of the potential results they can expect from their cosmetic procedure.

I wanted to take some time to explain how the Crisalix technology works because this is a question that I have personally received several times from patients. The truth is that it’s actually quite simple to use. Crisalix 3D Imaging is a software-based system. The process begins by creating a personalized account on your computer or smartphone. Once that is done, we will take a photograph of your body and input it into your Crisalix account. These photographs can then serve as the basis for virtual projections of what you might look like after your cosmetic procedure based on your current appearance and the specific details of your surgery.

I use advanced 3D imaging to help patients choose between their different procedure alternatives. For example, breast augmentation surgery requires choosing the size, shape, and type of breast implant that will be most beneficial for your new look. Crisalix can illustrate what the results may look like based on all of these individual choices to help determine which option is the best fit. At my office, we use Crisalix during consultations for a wide variety of cosmetic surgery procedures including cosmetic breast surgery, tummy tucks, liposuction, facelifts, eyelid surgery, and more. Patient satisfaction has always been our number one concern here at Southern Plastic Surgery. Creating and maintaining realistic expectations is a critical part of the cosmetic surgery process. Crisalix allows for me to give patients the ability to feel more informed and confident than ever before when determining if plastic surgery can help them rejuvenate their appearance and achieve the new body contour that they desire.
