Cost isn’t always the most important factor to consider for patients who are interested in undergoing a cosmetic surgery procedure, but it is a factor nonetheless. In my time performing plastic surgery, I have spoken to so many patients who spent years putting off their cosmetic surgery due to concerns relating to costs. However, in my experience, people are often surprised that plastic surgery is often far more affordable than they may have realized.

Since cosmetic surgery is typically considered “elective” (or not medically necessary), they will not be covered by the patient’s health insurance plan. That means the full cost of the procedure will fall on the patient. However, I always let my patients know that there are tools I utilize to help lighten the financial load for my patients. For instance, I offer all of my patients a complimentary plastic surgery consultation appointment. Here at Southern Plastic Surgery, we also offer flexible plastic surgery financing options like CareCredit® and Prosper Healthcare Lending to help qualified/approved patients break up their costs over time if that is something they would prefer. Additionally, we take credit cards if patients feel like this is a better option for their needs. Ultimately, the patient should be clear on the costs and comfortable with their decision before moving forward.
