In honor of Men’s Health Month, I wanted to take some time to highlight a few of the more popular cosmetic surgery procedures for men that I perform here at Southern Plastic Surgery. This month can be the perfect time to refocus on your health and how you can treat your body well. Specifically, I wanted to shine a light on three procedures—the male tummy tuck, male breast reduction, and male rhinoplasty—that can do wonders to help men trying to improve some aspect of their appearance. Whether you are trying to gain a competitive edge in the workplace or just looking to regain your body definition, undergoing a cosmetic procedure here at Southern Plastic Surgery can help you achieve those goals.
Male Tummy Tuck
Many men have difficulty getting rid of stubborn belly fat or excess skin as they age. Diet and exercise alone can only do so much, and in many cases, cannot help men who experience loose, excess skin around their abdomen. Undergoing a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) can help guys over the age of 40 to achieve a more taut, masculine physique. For some men, a mini tummy tuck may also be a good option to only treat excess skin on the lower region of their abdomen.
Male Breast Reduction
A male breast reduction procedure can help men treat gynecomastia by eliminating the excess glandular tissue in the chest area that causes this condition. In some cases, I may also use liposuction to remove fat from the chest area. The result is a more defined, masculine chest area and improved confidence for the patient.
One of the most popular facial procedures for men is rhinoplasty (or a nose job). The male nose is quite different from the female. By this logic, performing rhinoplasty on male patients requires techniques specifically intended to help guys look their best while retaining their more masculine facial features. I have been performing rhinoplasty procedures on men for over 20 years and know what is required to help men look their best.
Male Body Sculpting
Body sculpting with liposuction is hugely popular with male patients due to its ability to help sculpt the abdominal area and provide a more trim, athletic-looking body contour. Male body sculpting is especially popular for guys who experience stubborn fat around their abdomen, flanks (“love handles”), and back.
