We’ve spoken in the past about the recent trend of smaller, more modest results during breast enhancement surgery. But this movement is just as real now for face and body contouring procedures. Take facelift surgery as an example. More modern facelift techniques that focus on lifting and repositioning deeper facial tissue are now more in-demand than ever. Many patients want to look younger without their skin looking stretched or “overdone”, or losing facial expressiveness after surgery.
The Continued Growth of Fat Transfer for the Face
With the desire for natural-looking results at a high point, we’ve seen more patients turn to fat transfer as a means of facial rejuvenation. Fat transfer injections involve using liposuction to remove fat from one area of a patient’s body, and then strategically re-inserting it elsewhere to provide a natural plumping effect. For some patients, this can be a fantastic way to liven up areas like the cheeks or lips that are in need of a volume boost.

Post-weight loss surgery is nothing new. However, how we approach loose, sagging skin after weight loss can always be subject to change. For instance, the circumferential body lift is now becoming increasingly more common for patients who may have once only considered a tummy tuck as a way to address excess skin in their abdominal area. This 360 degree approach to body contouring is able to remove loose skin from the abdomen, torso, hips, buttocks, and back in one fell swoop.
