When figuring out which cosmetic procedures are among the most popular with my patients, versatility certainly plays a role. There are many procedures like rhinoplasty that are specifically intended to treat one area of a patient’s body (in this case, the nose) and then there are others that can be applied to a number of areas all over the body. I have noticed that many patients are drawn to the idea of certain trusted procedures. Especially those that can help provide benefits to different areas in need of aesthetic alteration. To help explain what I mean, here is a basic primer on three of the most versatile cosmetic procedures that I perform.
Liposuction has long been considered the most versatile cosmetic surgery available. By providing outstanding results from head-to-toe, liposuction proved to be the single most in-demand cosmetic surgery for both women and men last year. During liposuction, areas of stubborn fat that may not respond to diet and exercise alone are removed from the body to provide a leaner, healthier physique. Lipo can be used to treat a wide variety of problem areas including the abdomen, hips, flanks (or love-handles), thighs, arms, buttocks, cheeks, neck, and more.
Often going hand in hand with liposuction, fat transfer injections are also often commended for their versatility. Fat transfer injections use fat that is removed during liposuction and injects it back into areas of the patient’s body that may benefit from a bit of added volume. This can include the face (including the lips), hands, breasts, or buttocks. Fat transfer is a safe, effective way for patients to maximize the aesthetic benefits of their liposuction procedure.
Lastly, allow me to highlight some of the non-surgical cosmetic procedures that I am able to perform. Cosmetic injectables for facial rejuvenation can help patients correct a number of facial concerns. Neuromodulators like Botox® and Dysport® are excellent for treating imperfections on the upper part of the face and around the eyes including wrinkles, lines, crow’s feet, and other issues caused by muscle activity such as expression lines. Facial filler injections like Restylane® and Juvederm® can help add lost volume to the cheeks, mid-face, or lips. Additionally, facial fillers can be used to perform a nonsurgical rhinoplasty (sometimes known as the liquid nose job) in which fillers are injected into the nose to reduce the appearance of bumps and uneven areas.
