In recent years, I have noticed the continual growth and popularity of the mommy makeover. By combining a tummy tuck (using my Scarpa fascia technique for the waist), liposuction, and a cosmetic breast surgery, my mommy makeover is able to provide substantial body contouring results for women trying to regain their pre-baby bodies. Despite its popularity, there are still many of my patients don’t understand what is involved with the mommy makeover. This is especially true of the expected recovery associated with this combination procedure.

There is a common misconception that mommy makeover recovery will be especially taxing for patients due to the comprehensive nature of undergoing three procedures at once. In my experience, the opposite is true. My patients are generally very happy with the added benefits of combining their procedures.

  • Since the three procedures are performed simultaneously, you will only have to go through one recovery process instead of recovering from your first procedure and then beginning the process all over again for your second and third ones.
  • This also means cutting costs by only having to pay hospital fees like anesthesia and surgical fees once instead of three times.
  • The mommy makeover is an outpatient procedure, meaning patients will not require a hospital stay.

Check out the video below where I explain the recovery timetable for patients following their mommy makeover.

One of the great things about a mommy makeover is its ability to give each patient the opportunity to customize her treatment to her unique aesthetic goals. However, this freedom also requires more thorough planning and consultation in order to help determine the surgical path that is best to help you achieve the results you desire. So do your research, weigh your options, and consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who will help come up with the right treatment plan for you.
