As I have discussed many times over the years, the plastic surgery consultation appointment is incredibly important for all patients. No matter what cosmetic procedure you are interested in undergoing, finding an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon to meet with is absolutely essential for fully understanding your options and having the smoothest and most satisfying plastic surgery journey. One thing that sets Southern Plastic Surgery apart from many other practices around Atlanta is my assertion that plastic surgery consultations can and should be free for our patients.
Complimentary consultations are not the norm in our industry. Many plastic surgery practices are hesitant to offer no-charge consultations, due to both losing the revenue of consultation fees and the risk of more patients not showing up for a free appointment. No shows do happen, and are obviously very unfortunate for our other patients and entire staff. But I personally love being able to welcome new patients into our practice, without any reservations about the cost of our initial meeting, and immediately start building a relationship of trust in service of our common goal of helping the patient look and feel their best.
Here in my office, plastic surgery consultations are a time to get familiar with my patients and their unique aesthetic needs whether it be discussing a facelift or a tummy tuck. My goal during these appointments is to educate my patients by letting them know all the relevant details about their procedure, including the specifics regarding their results and potential post-surgery recovery period. However, this is also a time to help the patient get more comfortable, both with their specific procedure, and with our practice. I do this by personally addressing any pertinent questions or concerns they may have about their upcoming surgery, no matter how small they may feel it is. I want my patients to leave the consultation feeling excited about their procedure and confident in myself and my team in our ability to deliver the experience and results they deserve.
As an added way to help our patients with the financial burdens of undergoing plastic surgery, I am happy to offer other ways to help reduce the costs associated with their procedure. This includes performing certain cosmetic procedures in-office when appropriate, to help cut back on potential hospital fees. Additionally, I also direct patients to my available plastic surgery financing options, which can help spread out the cost of a cosmetic procedure into several smaller, interest-free payments for qualified patients.
